Darcel Thompson
HR Recruiter
I have worked at Sunshine Communities since 2007 progressing through a variety of roles. I enjoy interacting with the individuals that we support on a personal level.
Professionally, I am committed to recruiting the best talent that supports our mission as it gives me great joy and purpose. As an employee, I am given room for growth and flexibility to balance work needs along with my family responsibilities.

Austin Estep
Licensed Practical Nurse
I enjoy working at Sunshine because every day is filled with variety, challenges, and opportunities which allow me to enhance my nursing skills. The individuals keep things exciting and my co-workers are reliable. It’s not often that you see people who work at the same place for 40 years. They do because of our mission and commitment.

Jennifer Sheidler
Direct Support Professional
In 1976, I came to Sunshine at the age of 15 to volunteer for the summer and I fell in love with the individuals. Sunshine was an inspiration to me as I had much love to give. Believing this was my calling, I began part-time work at age 16 and then was hired on full-time after graduating high school.
Sunshine is an integral part of my family life as I met my husband, David, through my sister-in-law who was a Sunshine nurse. David worked here for five years and our daughters have volunteered over the years. I have “grown up” with many of the individuals. I am proud to be associated with Sunshine.
